Karnataka Milk Federation denies reports of pesticide in ‘Nandini’ milk

KMF officials asserted that Nandini milk was safe and free from all pesticides

Bengaluru: Denying the allegation of pesticides in milk, Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) officials asserted that Nandini milk was safe and free from all pesticides. “Nandini milk is completely safe and free from pesticide residues and the quality is excellent,” said S.N. Jayaram, Managing Director, KMF.

Denying media reports Jayaram said, “KMF regularly arranges to test milk for all pesticide residues from internationally reputed accredited laboratories, such as TUV and others at periodical intervals. Nandini milk is free from pesticide residues as evident from over 100 such external reports.” He also said that consumers were welcome to KMF laboratories to personally see these test reports.

KMF officials rubbished reports by Gaurav Maheshwari regarding pesticides in milk. They wondered why Gaurav would ask a Chennai laboratory to do the tests, where KMF had recently started selling around 600 litres of full cream milk, through a Chennai-based private co-packing dairy.

The officials said KMF has also initiated necessary legal actions against Gaurav Maheshwari and Chennai Testing Laboratory for causing damage to their reputation. “We assure customers that Nandini milk is of excellent quality and is completely free from pesticides. Consumers are requested to contact our customer care numbers or KMF Central Quality Control Division for any clarifications,” Jayaram said.
