Andhra Pradesh amends law for officials

The Act says that the government should extend the service after the “final allocation” of employees

Hyderabad: The AP government has amended the AP Public Employment (Regulation of Age of Superannuation) Act to give extension of service to its employees who retired during the period of their provisional allotment to the Telangana government.

The Act says that the government should extend the service after the “final allocation” of employees. However, in a relaxation of the Act, employees who were provisionally allotted to TS and were retiring would get extension.

The order said that the employees (both in-service and retired) who were posted based on the tentative allocation list have been reporting to concerned departments in AP and are requesting re-induction into service.

After due consultations, the government decided to re-induct retired employees, who had been allocated tentatively to AP in relaxation of provision in the Act.

The government said the re-induction would be only against a clear vacancy in the category. In the absence of a clear vacancy, before issuing re-induction orders the appointing authority shall revert to junior most employees in the category.

The government said during the period out of employment, the staff may be paid a sum equal to the pension which they would have drawn on the date of their retirement in Telangana and pension benefits, if any, already drawn shall be remitted into the government account.
