Hyderabad: A 16-year-old girl who went missing on August 26 was allegedly kidnapped and raped by three autorickshaw drivers two days ago. The incident came to light when the girl escaped from her captors. Police arrested two of the accused while the third is absconding.
LB Nagar police said the victim stays with her mother and brother at Hasthinapuram. She and her mother work as domestic helps.
Police said the prime accused Paramesh, who owns a seven-seater autorickshaw, was a neighbour of the victim. He and another accused, Shiva, allegedly kidnapped the girl from her home and took her to a forest area near Gurramguda village and assaulted her, along with a third person.
Later, they locked her up in a room in the village. The girl escaped from the room and reached her home on the night of Friday.
“They locked her up in the room and fled. The girl appears to be mentally challenged. We have sent her to hospital for a medical check-up to verify her age and mental condition,” said LB Nagar inspector E. Srinivas Reddy.
Police registered the statement of the victim and reportedly arrested the accused. Police has registered a case of kidnap and rape.
