Chennai railway GM urged to discipline TTE squads
Present DRM and Sr DCM have tried their best to bring in some discipline in the ticket checking department by transferring
Chennai: The controversial commercial clerks and squad TTEs transfers in Chennai railway division is no more a hush-hush affair. NFIR (National Federation of Indian Railway Men) has written to the general manager of southern railway (SR), asking him to back his deputies in streamlining the periodical transfers in the commercial department.
The divisional railway manager was recently instructed to revoke the periodical transfer orders issued by senior divisional commercial manager to 43 squad TTEs and several commercial clerks who were found to have worked away from their originally designated places.
It was widely rumoured that SRMU, the lone recognised railway employee’s trade union in the zone, had got it done by flexing its muscles. The present DRM and Sr DCM have tried their best to bring in some discipline in the ticket checking department by transferring long standing staff in the squad, the NFIR letter to GM read.
