Theft accused had married four times in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A week after the theft of Rs 21 lakh and a car belonging to film distributor Vasudeva Rao Chowdury, the police discovered that driver G. Saikumar, the main accused, had married four women. Police said Saikumar, who started working for Mr Chowdury eight months ago, was staying with his fourth wife.
Police said that Saikumar is a native of Huzurnagar in Nalgonda district. He shifted to Hyderabad nearly 10 years ago and was staying in a rented accommodation at Jeedimetla. Police said Saikumar was a confidence trickster. He would gain the trust of his employer and then rob him, police said.
“He behaves like a very faithful employee with the owner. Once he gains the confidence of his employer, he cheats him and escapes. Over the past 10 years, he cheated most of his owners. He never worked for more than a year with any employer,” said an officer with the Banjara Hills police.
Police found that he used to marry once every two or three years. He was staying with his fourth wife, identified as Manjula.
Mr Chowdary said he never suspected Saikumar. “He was very faithful. But we never expected that he would commit such an offence,” said the distributor. The case is under investigation. Over the past 10 years, theft accused G. Saikumar never worked for more than a year with any employer, police said.
