My aim is philanthropy, not politics: Vishal
Vishal distributed shoes and socks to the underprivileged and differently-abled children and interacted with them
Actor Vishal has been constantly engaged in various philanthropic activities in recent times, so it didn’t come as a surprise when he chose to dedicate his time on his birthday (August 29) for charitable activities. The actor, who took a break from his upcoming flick with Pandiraj, started his day at the ICSA Centre where hundreds of refugees from Sri Lanka had returned to India on Saturday. After donating a huge sum for the educational cause of children from the refugee camp, he also distributed shoes and socks to the underprivileged and differently-abled children and interacted with them.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “When I was shooting for my film Thamirabharani at Rameswaram, I came to know about the refugee camps there. I got to know more about their needs through my sister-in-law actress Sriya’s friend Poongkodhai who works for a refugee rehabilitation center OFERR. I learnt their primary concern is education. Each time, I visit the center, I feel rejuvenated. Some may think that I am being involved in all this with the motive of getting into politics — but that's absolutely not my intention! As an actor, my job is to entertain people, and it is enough if I do it correctly." Besides this, the actor’s fans welfare associations also distributed notebooks to the needy, sarees to transgenders and conducted annadhanams at various temples, orphanages and senor citizen homes.
