Srinagar: Within three weeks of the arrest of Lashkar-e-Tayyaba operative Muhammad Naved Yakub, a second Pakistani militant, was captured alive by security forces in an encounter in which three other militants were killed in the hills of Rafiabad in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Earlier a fifth militant, who was part of the same group of infiltrators, was killed in an encounter in neighbouring Uri sector. The militants hid themselves in a natural cave in the hills at Vij Top, Daniwar in Rafiabad and fired.
Troops retaliated strongly to the firing. Finally, they fired teargas shells and “chilli grenades” into the cave to choke the militants and force them out. Officials said a “Chilli grenade” is a non-toxic weapon.
