Bengaluru man kills wife in car, surrenders
BENGALURU: In a shocking incident, suspecting his wife’s fidelity, a 38-year-old man killed her in his car on Thursday evening and later surrendered before Basvanagudi police. Wearing his blood-soaked shirt, Nagraj, an electrician, allegedly walked into the office of a local news channel on Thursday evening carrying the dead body of his wife in his car. The Basvanagudi police was alerted and the accused surrendered.
The deceased has been identified as Jyothi (28). The couple had been married 15 years and have three children. For years, however, he suspected her fidelity and they used to constantly fight. In his statement, Nagraj confessed to killing his wife, a home-maker, as she was allegedly having an extra marital affair. He also stated that his wife had used blank cheques and made fraudulent transactions.
Nagraj alleged that he had warned her often, but she continued her affair. On Thursday evening, Nagraj took her in his car and when they reached KR Park, he slit her throat. Jyothi had moved out of the house because of the fights and was living with her sister. On Thursday morning, he went to meet her. Jyothi got into Nagaraj’s car and he later killed her.
A local TV channel claimed he called them up confessing to the murder, following which the alerted the police. Basvanagudi police have registered an FIR and taken the accused into custody for further questioning.
