OK Kanmani and Orange Mittai go international
Filmmakers Mani Ratnam and Biju Viswanath have a reason to smile
Filmmakers Mani Ratnam and Biju Viswanath have a reason to smile. The Dulquer Salmaan-starrer O Kadhal Kanmani directed by Mani Ratnam and the Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Orange Mittai directed by Biju Viswanath have been selected to be screened at the 20th edition of the Busan International Film Festival, which is to be held between October 1 and 10.
Both the films are to be screened in the ‘A Window On Asian Cinema’ category at the ten day festival. Orange Mittai deals with the life of a 55-year-old-man played by Vijay Sethupathi while O Kadhal Kanmani is a contemporary take on live-in relationships. Looks like Biju is quite happy and this is the third time where his film is making it to the Busan Awards. He tweeted, “Orange Mittai selected to Busan Film festival, often termed as the ‘Cannes of Asia’ — the biggest festival in Asia (sic).”
