Son in US tracked doctor’s car via GPS

Police has booked a case under CrPC Section 174 and is investigating

Hyderabad: ENT surgeon at Kims hospital Dr K. Raghavendra Rao, 62, was found dead inside his BMW car on the roadside at Old Bowenpally under suspicious circumstances on Wednesday morning. A missing complaint had been lodged after is family was unable to trace him on Tuesday.

While the Cyberabad police started investigating, Dr Rao’s son, based in the US, tracked the BMW car using its GPS facility and informed the police that the car was at Harsha Vardan Colony, Old Bowenpally, strangely not the regular route the doctor takes every day.

“We found him lying in the front seat. He had blood on his nose. We found an empty liquor bottle in the car. We shifted the body for post-mortem after collecting necessary evidence,” said Bowenpally sub inspector B. Srinivas.

“We are not sure why he took that route to come to Kims from Petbasheerabad,” said an investigation official, adding that it was suspicious why he had avoided the main route.

Sources said that the doctor was heading a department in Kims and had no trouble in his professional life. “He had no life threat or issues. We are not sure what happened,” said Mr Sai Prakash. Police has booked a case under CrPC Section 174 and is investigating.
