Gurdaspur attack: Terrorist gang wore Pakistan made shoes
New Delhi: National security adviser Ajit Doval was ready to confront Pakistan during the now-cancelled NSA-level talks with clinching evidence of the Dinanagar and Gurdaspur attackers.
Digging holes in Pakistan’s FIA probe of 26/11, New Delhi accused Islamabad of not verifying antecedents of the 10 Mumbai attackers, nor the control room details shared by India nor investigating the boat that carried the terrorists to Indian shores seven years ago.
According to the dossier to be handed over to Islamabad by the NDA government, the three terrorists who stormed Gurdaspur last month had come from Sargoda in Pakistan, and a pair of shoes recovered from the slain terrorists bore “Cheetah” mark, a popular brand available in Pakistan.
“The insoles of one pair of shoes recovered from the killed terrorists bore ‘Cheetah’ brand. The markings were scratched and inked in the other two pairs of shoes to conceal the brand name. Shoes of ‘Cheetah’ brand are not available in India but it is a popular name in Pakistan,” it said.
Even the gloves bore a “Made in Pakistan” tag, while markings on other belongings had been removed. Even IEDs planted by them had Duracell batteries not made in India. Exposing the shoddy investigation of Pakistan’s FIA in the 26/11 case, Mr Doval was all set to question why the role of the ISI was left out of the FIA probe.
