CM Oommen Chandy to launch police mobile app
Kottayam: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will launch the mobile application ‘Manarcaud my police app’, intended to ensure a healthy and transparent relationship between the police and the public, at a function to be held at Manarcaud on Saturday.
Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will preside, while Director General of Police (DGP) TP Senkumar will speak on ‘the role of modern technology in ensuring the safety of the public’.
Speaking at a press meet on Wednesday, Kottayam district police chief M. P. Dinesh said the public could convey messages and pictures through the app within seconds to the police.
“The police will respond suitably. The police also can send collective messages to persons residing in a region or even individually. This mobile app will be useful to those who reside in the Manarcaud police station limits. The phone numbers of doctors, auto rickshaw owners and ambulance drivers in the locality will be made available through this app”, Mr Dinesh added.
The first registration of the mobile app will be done by ADGP K Padmakumar.
