Jangaon DSP arrested for Rs 2 crore ‘illegal assets’
Warangal: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested Jangaon DSP Kura Surender for allegedly having assets disproportionate to known sources of income. The Anti-Corruption Bureau conducted raids simultaneously at the DSP’s office and residences in Jangaon, Hyderabad, Narsampet and Hanamkonda. The raids began at 5 am and continued till late in the evening.
The Anti Corruption Bureau officials seized documents of independent houses in Tilaknagar and Balasamudram, a flat in Venkateshwara Apartments in Uppal, two flats in Jana Chaitanya Apartments in Uppal, one flat in Naxatra Apartments in Hanamkonda and five open plots, two in Warangal and three in Hyderabad.
Apart from these the ACB also seized Rs 8,86,000 cash, 78 tola gold, 2.30 kg silver and 14 bottles of imported liquor. Anti Corruption Bureau DSP Saibaba said five teams took part in the raids with crime station teams from Warangal and Hyderabad.
“So far, we found disproportionate assets worth around Rs 2 crore. Mr Surender has been arrested and is being interrogated. The raids at their relatives’ places in Narsampet are yet to be completed. We handed over the documents found to I-T officials,” he said.
