Chennai: Actor Prabhu, younger son of thespian Sivaji Ganesan, was in an ecstatic mood when DC called him to share Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa’s announcement on building a 'Manimandapam’ in the city in honor of the greatest actor of all times Sivaji Ganesan.
“Our entire family including Ramkumar, Shanthi, Thenmozhi, me and my son Vikram Prabhu feel extremely glad for the wonderful gesture of Amma. Today, appa lives in the hearts and homes of millions of his fans in the form of appa, anna and thambi. And this memorial built by the government will be a long standing one and reiterate their love and affection”.
Recalling how Madam shared a great respect for his dad, Prabhu said, “She has grown up during my dad’s period and she knows his values. Madam has also worked with appa in several films. She is a great admirer and respectful of appa”.
“Though she earlier gave a place to construct Manimandapam for appa, somewhere we missed the opportunity. Now, we as well as crores of fans of appa are immensely happy that the project is taking shape under her initiative and regime”, he said.
