Submit expenditure statement, says Vice-Chancellor Dr M K Abdul Khader

KOZHIKODE: Calicut University Vice-Chancellor Dr M.K. Abdul Khader has directed the university union to submit the expenditure statement of the activities undertaken by the union at the end of the academic year.

Those who fail to submit the statement will not be allowed to take their examinations, the VC warned. He was addressing a gathering during the oath-taking ceremony of the Calicut University Students Union.

“In Kannur University, there is a strict rule in this regard. The union office-bearers should give more attention to financial discipline. Wide range of activities with less expenditure should be the key for the union,” he said.

The VC’s direction has come as a boon for the college welfare section staff as most of the time, the students take advance from the varsity, but fail to submit the statements forcing the staff to bear the burden at the end of the financial year.

V.A. Ashif and Muhammed Fawas took charge as the union chairman and secretary respectively. The VC administered the oath.
