Visakhapatnam: Vizag Steel Plant employees heeded to the call given by IT Department on filing of Income Tax return by attending in large number in the awareness programme conducted by the IT Department on Tuesday.
The awareness program was organised under the guidance of joint commissioner of income tax, Salary Range-2, B. Babu Rao, and assistant commissioner of income tax, Salary Range-2, Sowmya Pandey Jain, for the benefit the of employees of the Navratna Company.
Addressing the participants Mr Babu Rao explained the need for compliance of filing of return of income on or before the due date and benefits of filing. He al-so explained the various initiatives taken by the department.
Ms Sowmya Pandey Jain, explained in detail applicability of different forms of income returns to different classes of assessees and various modes of filing of return of income such as manual returns, e-filing through Income tax Department website and filing using mobile app ‘My IT Return’.
She also made a power point presentation on e-filing of income tax returns. Simultaneously, the supporting staff of the Department conducted similar programme at SMS-1, WRM, Blast Fu-rnace and Coke Ovens. They have also clarified the doubts/queries of employees of RINL on filing of returns, income tax refunds, Aadhar linking etc.
