The accused lured the victim and promised to marry her

Hyderabad: An autorickshaw driver allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl after promising to marry her. Police said the accused lured the victim and took her to a dargah in Karnataka to marry her. He also had sexual intercourse with her. Later, he dropped her at her home and fled.
Hussaini Alam Police arrested the accused on Monday morning while he was moving around near the Pista House in Charminar. Police identified the accused as Mohammed Shareef, 23, a resident of Amannagar in Talabkatta.
Police said Shareef stays near the victim’s house. He introduced himself to her last month and befriended her. After a few days he promised to marry her. He made a plan to marry her at a dargah in Gulbarga. The victim believed him and accompanied him to Gulbarga with the intention of visiting the dargah and getting married. There he rented a room near the dargah.
“First day they visited the dargah and the next day, he had sexual intercourse with the victim. When the victim got scared and asked him to marry her he brought her back to Hyderabad and dropped her at home and fled,” said Charminar ACP K. Ashok Chakravarthy.
Later, when the victim told her mother about what had happened she lodged a complaint with the police. Police registered a case of kidnap and Rape under Sections 366 (A), 368, 376 and Section 5 (M) and the Posco Act.
Shareef is an accused in nearly 14 cases from 2009 to 2015 in various police stations in Hyderabad. “Based on his record we are preparing proposals to invoke the PD Act against him,” added the ACP. Shareef was produced before court.
