Widening of Ramana Maharshi Road already settled in Supreme Court: Wadiyar’s sister
BENGALURU: The issue related to widening of Ramana Maharshi Road, parallel to Palace Road, has already been settled in the Supreme Court, submitted Ms Indrakshi Devi, sister of late Mysuru prince Srikantadatta Wadiyar, before the Karnataka High Court on Monday.
In an interlocutory application, Ms Devi, who is the owner of part of Bangalore Palace land, stated that the state government was misleading the court by not carrying out the road widening work on Palace Road, despite the Supreme Court passing an interim order to go ahead with the works.
A division bench headed by acting Chief Justice S.K. Mukherjee orally directed the state government and BBMP to follow the Supreme Court directions and adjourned the hearing.
Awards withdrawn
The director of Department of Information and Public Relations on Monday submitted before the High Court that five state film awards conferred on two Kannada films for 2010-2011 have been withdrawn. The awards included Rs 20,000 cash and a 100 gm silver citation that will be withdrawn through a government order. The petitioner, S. Radha, had challenged the state film awards given to certain films where the application was sent after the last date. The matter stands adjourned.
