PIL drags President Pranab Mukherjee in emails leak case

New Delhi: In a new twist to the ‘Essar emails leak case’, the Centre for Public Interest Litigation on Monday accused President Pranab Mukherjee of getting an appointment in Essar for his granddaughter Suchismita Mukherjee in 2013.

The court had issued notice to the Centre, Essar and the CBI for a court-monitored probe into the leaks into the high level of political-bureaucratic-corporate nexus wherein corporates like Essar use their money power to change public policies, plant questions in Parliament, violate all kinds of laws governing money laundering and foreign exchange, obtain loans from banks, get access to internal government cabinet papers, grant favours to politicians and bureaucrats for receiving benefits in return.
