G. Gayathri died under suspicious circumstance in Saidabad

Hyderabad: Hours after six year-old G. Gayathri died under suspicious circumstance in Saidabad, police found that her mother killed her in an inebriated condition inside her house. The woman, G. Vijaya, 28, suffocated the kid with a pillow till the girl fell unconscious, police said. Her dispute with her former husband Ramesh had prompted her to commit the murder.
According to the police, Gayathri started crying demanding something. Vijaya, who was drunk spanked her and tried to stop her crying. “As the girl continued to cry, Vijaya took a pillow and pressed it against her face,” said Malakpet ACP Mr. Ch Sudhakar. The neighbours and relatives came into the house hearing the girl’s scream and found her unconscious. They took her to Osmania General Hospital, where she succumbed.
Vijaya had got divorced from her husband Ramesh two years ago. She and her daughter had been living in their house in Singareni colony since then, while Ramesh lives in his house at Achampet. Police have booked a case against the accused for murder under IPC and arrested her.
