Hyderabad: An undertrial prisoner lodged at the Cherlapally jail died while undergoing treatment at Gandhi hospital on Sunday. The prisoner, V. Raj Kumar, was a rape accused. He was arrested on August 11 for allegedly raping a minor girl at Nacharam.
Raj Kumar was admitted to hospital three days ago following severe stomach pain. Doctors had found that he was suffering from peptic ulcer.
“He underwent surgery on the same day,” said an official from the jail. Doctors said that his health deteriorated after the surgery.
