Pawan Kalyan warns TD, BJP of stir

Says he will not remain silent if farmers harmed
Penumaka (Guntur): Countering the statements by various ministers and MPs given during the past few days, actor Pawan Kalyan on Sunday said that though his Jana Sena may be an ally of the TD and BJP, he would oppose any “illegality” committed by the ruling parties.
Referring to minister R. Kishore Babu’s statement that there was no need to create a “ruckus for a mere 3,850 acres of land,” Mr Kalyan questioned why TD MP M. Murali Mohan moved court to save his small portion of land from being acquired for the ORR in Hyderabad.
Interacting with farmers of Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and other villages of capital region, he said that about ten families were dependent on each acre of land. “Being an ally of TD and BJP doesn’t mean I am a slave. I opposed my elder brother, who is like a father to me, over state bifurcation. I will not remain silent if atrocities are committed,” Mr Kalyan said.
“I supported (Chief Minister N. Chandrababu) Naidu as he is an able administrator. I have no personal enmity with YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. I preferred Naidu as Jagan was a political novice,” he said. “I can criticise Naidu, but respect for the CM’s post stops me from doing so. Yanamala’s comments saddened me,” he said.
“I wonder why TD leaders did not see me as an obstacle to development when I praised Naidu’s efforts in the aftermath of Cyclone Hudhud and during elections? How can they brand me as anti-development?” the actor questioned.
Reminding of his protest against Vanpic at Ongole with TD leader Karanam Balaram, Mr Kalyan said that land was acquired unethically for Vanpic and now history was being repeated in the capital region.
Pawan threatens fast but ready for talks:
Emphasising that he would prefer a solution through dialogue, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan on Sunday made it clear that he would not hesitate to go on a hunger strike to stop acquisition of land from farmers for establishment of Amaravati.
Mr Kalyan appealed to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by describing him the “most able administrator who built the Hitec City in Hyderabad” to resolve the issue through dialogue or debate or he would be forced to resort to a dharna.
Stating that Mr Naidu brought Presidents of many countries, including the US, to AP, developed IT and initiated reforms, he said only the CM can resolve the issue. “Chances that the TD will face defeat in the next election exist. How can we then believe promises made by ministers like P. Pulla Rao, P. Narayana and others during land pooling?” Mr Kalyan said when asked by the farmers whether the words of the ministers hold any value.
