Nagalapuram: Acting on a tip off, ACB sleuths raided on commercial tax check post on Sunday which is located in Narayanavanam and seized Rs 40,000 unaccounted cash.

A team led by ACB DSP Shankar Reddy raided after receiving many complaints from lorry owners about the check post. The sleuths found five unauthorised persons working in the check-post apart from two computer operators.

He did not get proper reply from check-post night in-charge Bhasha Khan about the seven staff working without authorisation. The ACB staff seized Rs 40,000 from check post for which Bhasha Khan could not show records. Talking to Deccan Chronicle, Mr Shankar Reddy said the check post was raided nearly after five years after 2011.

"I received many complaints on this check post from many lorry owners and found many irregularities in the check-post regarding appointment of staff, collecting cash without slip and others. We sought explanation on the additional staff from higher authorities of commercial tax and we will take action on those who were responsible for unauthorised money collection by appointing additional staff without permission," he said.

He made it clear that nobody was arrested so far.
