Chandrababu Naidu, Modi to talk special tag on August 25

The PM is expected to decide the quantum of financial package to be given to AP
Hyderabad: Armed with a long wishlist, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 10.30 am on Tuesday. The PM is expected to decide the quantum of financial package, incentives and tax rebates to be given to AP as assured in the AP Reorganisation Act.
A decision on the special status to be granted to AP in tune with the assurance given by the then PM Manmohan Singh will also be taken.
While Mr Naidu is expected to insist on the “special status” to AP, the Centre is likely to convince him that the special package would have more in it than special status can offer.
Even the date and occasion to announce the much-awaited special package, incentives, funding for construction of world-class capital city Amaravati among other sops would be decided in the meeting.
The date and occasion is likely to be October 22, the day the foundation stone for Amaravati will be set by the PM. Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley too will be participating in the meeting.
