Director A.S. Ravi Kumar Chowdhary, who made his comeback with the hit, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham last year, is back on track. He is now busy directing a film with actor Gopichand. “Half the film is finished and I am completely satisfied with the output. We are planning to release the film on December 25,” he reveals.
The director has also been off the radar now for four years, before his return with with Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham. “I did it deliberately. I realised I was going wrong somewhere and I wanted to change. So, I took a break to write,” says the director.
His forthcoming film with Gopichand is an entertainer. “The trend is now entertainment. But in my films, I add certain emotions which I will definitely bring some kind of audience, who are sticking to television,” claims Ravi Kumar.
The director is now making conscious steps towards a bigger career. “I don’t want to repeat mistakes. From now onwards, I am going to be more prolific and will not wait for projects. After this film, I will start my next project on January 20. I am supposed to work with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and Sai Dharam Tej,” he claims.
The scripts he made during his ‘gap year’ are coming out one after the other. “I’m making few changes to suit current trends and once the lead actor is finalised then I will make a few changes to suit his body language,” reveals Ravi Kumar.
Budget is also something he has been paying attention to as several Tollywood films have suffered from high costs. “But I have directed seven films so far and not a single project exceeded budgets. I consider all combinations — even the actors while preparing the budget.”
