Film on Arushi Talwar murder case - ‘Find the answer yourself’

At the first look of Vishal Bhardwaj’s Talvar, the usual questions of whether Aarushi’s parents were really guilty or not (in the film) popped up. While the filmmakers stated that they had strictly gone according to the CBI reports in the case, Irrfan Khan asked everyone to use their own brains and not be spoon-fed information.

“We should not wait to be fed everything. Human beings have brains and we should not act like amoeba that eats, shits and only produces,” he says. “We have three references in the Aarushi murder case. The writer has written everything according to the three CBI inquires,” he adds.

“Why should we term this as a controversy? This happened in our society. We as human beings have the tendency of being fed by cinema and you guys want to know the end. The tale is intriguing but as a human being, each one of you will have to dwell into it and try to find the truth yourself. The mystery is that life is not easy, the emotions in this story are compelling enough… One need not be gullible… Try to find the answer yourself,” adds Irrfan.

He adds that the film’s purpose would be defeated if people came to see the film only because he and Konkona Sen were in it. “That will be a tragedy. The story and the creator of the film need to be credited for the same. We just lend our talent.”
