Minister warns BC welfare officials
Nellore: Minister for BC Welfare Kollu Ravindra pulled up a contractor involved in the construction of a hostel for backward classes in Nellore for poor quality of construction during inspection on Saturday.
He said that he would initiate action against the officials concerned and the contractor if there are any shortcomings in the construction of hostel buildings. The minister also made surprise visits to BC Girls Hostel and BC Boys Hostel in Nellore on Saturday.
Instructing the officials to provide all the facilities to the inmates of hostels, he said that he will be compelled to take action as per rules against those neglecting their duties.
He said that BMR Hatcheries would provide a temporary study room for girls in the hostel along with an inverter apart from 10 toilets in the boys' hostel while thanking the head of the organisation and former legislator Beeda Masthan Rao for his gesture.
He said that 550 hostels have own buildings out of 897 and the balance 347 are in private buildings. Mr Masthan Rao, former minister T. Ramesh Reddy. TD leader G. Kannababu and BC Welfare Officer Sanjeeva Rao were present.
