Green Fields Plot owners call for action on land grab

MRO inactive, alleges plot owners association

Hyderabad: The Green Fields Plot Owners Association protested at the Malkajgiri Mandal MRO office demanding action against land grabbers. The protesters alleged that Mr K. Srinivas had been inactive in this case despite alerting him about new land grabbing attempts by a group of people.

They alleged that the plots, survey number 377 and 378, which belonged to the government, were grabbed recently by anti-social elements with the supports of some politicians.

“The activities of land grabbers were brought to his notice several times by phone, in a written complaint with photos and documentary proofs. However, he did not act at all. After the MRO joined last year, revenue officials had inspected the land and issued an order to demolish two walls constructed by grabbers. However, he demolished only one part of the wall and left,” said S. Chandrasekhar, secretary of Green Fields Plot Owners Association.

Earlier, former minister Shankar Rao and his brother P. Dayanand were booked by the Cyberabad police on charges of criminal conspiracy and cheating for trying to grab land belonging to the Green Fields.

Since the High Court gave a verdict in 2005 that the entire land, located at Kanajiguda village in Malkajgiri mandal, belonged to the government, hundreds of plot owners have been seeking regularisation of their plots as per the GO 166.
