Not often do we get a serial that focuses on female literacy. One such show is Pragati, which is being telecast on Doordarshan’s National Channel at 2 pm from Monday to Friday. The show is based on a girl, who strives hard to get education, beating all odds. The makers have tried to bring in sensitive issues like social ills, corruption, drug addiction and the lack of toilets for women with an aim to creating a basic awareness to stand up against such injustice and practices. Pragati is directed by Vijay Saini.
