Whispers about Ranbir and Katrina’s engagement got louder in Bollywood circles after the latter’s birthday party last month

There has been on and off buzz about Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif’s engagement for a while now, but it has only gotten stronger after Katrina Kaif’s birthday in July this year.
According to sources, the two exchanged rings on Kat’s birthday and it was a big celebration with members of the Kapoor family in attendance. This is probably why the actress has been a lot more vocal about her relationship since then. Even her to-be father-in-law Rishi Kapoor has been dropping hints about his acknowledgement about the bride. The actor recently posted a picture of a Katrina fan on a flight.
“In his own way Rishiji is making his approval for Katrina very apparent. But understandably, the family doesn’t want to make a big noise about the engagement,” said a source.
There are, however, friends of Ranbir who deny the story. “Yes, there was a celebration and the Kapoors attended it, but that was that. The two have been very open and dignified about their relationship and we expect everyone to stop speculating.” A formal announcement is expected after Phantom’s release, we hear.
