TSPSC cites breach of secrecy
Says AP officials forcefully accessed recruitment exam material
Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has complained to the local police that officials from Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission had forcefully accessed a confidential room containing material related to the upcoming recruitment exam in Telangana.
Though a formal case hasn’t been filed, police officials enquired into the matter on Friday. As per the Memorandum of Understanding between the APPSC and the TSPSC, the second and third floors of the common building are to be used by TSPSC while the fourth and fifth floors are to be used by APPSC. But the former had stored some confidential material on the fifth floor.
However, TSPSC secretary Parvathi Subramanian said that the confidential room was forcibly opened by APPSC officials without any information. “The chamber allotted to her (TSPSC assistant secretary) on the fifth floor was forcefully opened and occupied by employees of APPSC without informing her. She further complained that confidential and other important material was kept in that chamber in her sole custody for which she is responsible,” Ms Subramanian said in her complaint to the police.
She added, “I am further to state that the TSPSC had issued a notification and the confidential work relating to the recruitment as well as department tests was under process.”
The APPSC, on its part, contended that the room was on a floor of the building belonging to it as per an agreement between the two constitutional bodies and it had the right to use the room. AP officials added that the room had not been opened forcibly.
