GPS to monitor liquor stock in Andhra Pradesh
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Friday instructed officials to install Global Positioning System (GPS) for monitoring the liquor stock delivery system.
In a review meeting with ministers Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, Siddha Raghava Rao and other officials, the CM said loopholes in liquor supply can be controlled by GPS system.
The CM added stocks supply management system including retail stocks and retail outlets could be monitored efficiently. Stating that the entire system should be streamlined within two months under the Hedonic Path Finder System, he added that excise department could integrate stocks in depots, distilleries and retail outlets on daily basis.
Besides, the government will also implement code of conduct for bringing down the accidents. AP government also plans setting up an open driving school system and introducing courses on driving and safety.
Meanwhile, Krishna, Guntur, Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam districts lead in land registrations in the first quarter. East and West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur districts topped in land revenue. The CM directed officials to modernise the registration system.
He said the government has begun registration system from anywhere, effective from August 10 and it would help avoid problems. The state government achieved Rs 9,689 crore till July against the total target of Rs 10,904 crore. However, the total government revenue collection target is Rs 47,250 crore for this year. The state government also collected Rs 9,819 from commercial taxes so far against the total revenue target of Rs 33,856 crore this year.
