Five AP farmers get notices to surrender land for capital
Guntur: The AP state government on Friday began the process of acquiring land from the landowners for construction of AP’s new capital, Amaravati by invoking the Land Acquisition Act. As many as five landowners received notices, issued on behalf of the state government, by district collector Kantilal Dande.
As per the notices, 11.04 acres of land belonging to five persons would be acquired in Abbarajupalem, Tullur, Ananthavaram, Pichukalapalem and Borupalem villages under Section 11 (1) and Rule 19 (1) of Act 30/2013.
Mr Dande said that the farmers who were served notices can lodge their objections with the government and CRDA. These objections would be considered on October 23.
He said that 4.25 acres would be acquired in Tullur, 0.83 acre in Borupalem, 0.78 acre in Pichukalapalem, 0.89 acre in Abbarajupalem and 4.26 acres in Ananthavaram from the farmers who have refused to pool their land under the Land Pooling Scheme. The government will not allow any transaction of the lands for which acquisition notices have been served.
“The land would be acquired under Land Acquisition Act-2013. Notifications have been published in all leading vernacular dailies for public information,” Mr Dande said, adding that notices to the others were likely to be issued on Saturday.
