Guntur/Vijayawada: The first notification to acquire 11.04 acres lands in Tullur, Ananthavaram, Abbarajupalem, Pichukalapalem and Borupalem was issued on Friday and the notification for the remaining capital villages is likely to be issued on Saturday. The recipients of the notice staged a dharna at CRDA offices at Tullur and Vijayawada and demanded that the notices be withdrawn, on Friday.
The anti-LPS farmers announced that they were ready to give lands for construction of big roads to Amaravati but not for any other purposes. The farmers of Undavalli, Penumaka, Bethapudi and Nidamarru staged a novel protest at CRDA office with vegetables and flowers. They asked the government not to include the fields which yield three crops in a year in LPS and LA. The novel protest of far-mers of Undavalli, Penum-aka, Bethapudi and Nida-marru villages of distributing vegetables, fruits and flowers cultivated in their lands attracted the public.
The anti-LPS farmers led by G. Naresh Reddy and other leaders met CRDA commissioner N. Srikanth and appealed him to collect land of Pedaparimi as the locals were ready to pool their lands under LPS for the new capital establishment.
Farmers said that CRDA needs 3,850 acres under LAA and 4,000 acres can be obtained from Pedaparimi and hence there was no need to implement LAA in their villages. They lamented that the annuity of Rs 50,000 per annum would not help them run their families as their children were studying engineering and other professional courses. They affirmed that they will not allow converting unique multiple crops on fertile lands into concrete buildings and are ready to knock on court doors seeking justice.
