Guntur: The farmers, who were given Land Acquisition notices, lament over snatching of their small bits of land hurting their sentiments. Guntur district collector Kantilal Dande on Friday issued LA notifications to collect lands in Abbarajupalem, Tullur, Ananthavaram, Pichukalapalem and Borupalem villages. The landowners are worried after receiving land acquisition notices.

A person, who received acquisition notice, warned of committing suicide along with his family members. A resident of Abbarajupalem, Y. Ganesh, received notice under the Land Acquisition Act on Friday. He said that his father was cremated in their farmland as per the wish of his father and that they treat it as a memorial.

Mr Ganesh added that his land comes under residential area and appealed to exclude the small land in memory of his father, but sadly CRDA did not consider the same and issued notification. He warned that his entire family would commit suicide if CRDA tries to snatch their land.

The other land acquisition notice recipients of Borupalem, Ananthavaram, Tullur and Pichukalapalem said they would lose their livelihoods if their lands were snatched.

Interestingly, these recipients of LAA notices supported by Telugu Desam leaders conducted a protest in front of CRDA office at Tullur demanding that the land acquisition notices be cancelled.

TD leader and ex MPTC, K. Veeraiah, Rayapudi lift irrigation scheme president, J. Ravi, Rayapudi co-operative society president, B. Srinivas and others along with farmers demanded cancellation of land acquisition and saving the lives of LA victim farmers.
