Electric cars can easily be charged using plug-in chargers or charging pods. However, if cars could be charged on the go, its like a dream come true!
Media reports state that the UK government has granted an official permission on developing a new magnetic induction technology that can charge electric cars while driving. This will also boost wireless phone charging. A report by CNN Money stated that engineers could likely install wireless technology in test vehicles and place special equipment under the roads. Cables buried under the highway can basically generate electromagnetic energy. This will then be transformed into electric power.
Presently, the government has integrated this technology only on selective streets. The government plans to invest $779 million over the next five years.
