Print media still strong: Governor P Sathasivam

He added that both visual and print are complementary rather than contradictory

KOZHIKODE: Despite the invasion of electronic media in every section of society, the print media has still maintained its supremacy, opined Kerala Governor P Sathasivam. He was speaking during the inaugural ceremony of the fifth Chilla Literary Magazine Talent award on Thursday at Town Hall.

“It was feared in the recent past that electronic media and its astounding impact over the people would threaten the importance of print, but the magic of letters and the journalistic approach of print media made its position firm, ” the Governor said. He added that both visual and print are complementary rather than contradictory and each aids and abets the other for mutual benefit.

The Governor presented the Chilla award to writer and BJP leader PS Sreedharan Pillai for his collection of essays titled ‘Vilakku Kalukal Evide’. The award comprised a cash prize of Rs 10,000 , a citation and a plaque.
