Hyderabad: A thief who tried to break into a wine shop got stuck in the roof and had to be rescued by the Medchal police on Thursday. He got stuck in the grills below the roof while trying to enter the Rangasai Wine shop in Medchal.
Police identified the accused as Shankar Nayak, a native of Indrakal village in Thadur mandal of Mahbubnagar district.
“He climbed onto the roof of the shop and got stuck in the iron grills just below the roof. He tried to escape, but he was unable to move. He finally gave up and stayed there till Thursday morning,” said Medchal inspector K. Shashank Reddy.
Cops rescued the accused and shifted him to hospital. He was later produced before court and sent to judicial remand.
