Watch: Swiss man sets world record for highest cliff jump

Cliff he jumped from was two meters taller than the Leaning Tower of Pisa

Having earlier jumped from 35-meter cliffs, Laso Schaller is known to be an adrenaline junkie. But this time, the 27-year-old took up an even more hair-raising challenge: jumping from a cliff measuring 58.8 meters tall – almost two meters more than the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

After spending over three-and-a-half seconds free-falling; he entered the water at a speed of 123 kmph and yet lived to tell the tale. This death-defying stunt was performed from the Cascata del Salto, a waterfall that sits above the southern town of Maggia in Switzerland.

Schaller’s remarkable descent was captured by a helmet camera, which shows the impact the water had on his body when he broke the surface.
