Yanamala Ramakrishnudu goes back on zonal system
Two days ago that the zonal system should go along with Article 371D of the Constitution
Hyderabad: AP finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Wednesday backtracked on the removal of the zonal system in the state. The minister had said two days ago that the zonal system should go along with Article 371D of the Constitution. On Wednesday, he said the government would take a decision on the zonal system going by the mood of the people. He said the issue of giving local status for the children of employees shifting to Vijayawada would be referred to the Centre for legal opinion.
He welcomed suggestion that the local status should be given to the children of employees on the basis of their father’s local status. He said it would be justified to give some relaxation to to the children of employees who would be shifting to to Vijayawada.
He said that before taking the issue to the Centre, the AP Cabinet would discuss it. Reacting to the statement of actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan opposing land acquisition in the new capital area Mr Ramakrishnudu asked him to suggest an alternative. He said instead of giving statements, Pawan Kalyan could discuss the issue with the government. He pointed out that the same procedure had implemented earlier to secure land for the construction of film studios. “We are not Viswamitras to create Trisanku swarga,” he said.
