Hyderabad: Almost 14 months after the formation of Telangana, the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on Wednesday released the first government jobs exam notification.
The TSPSC will fill about 770 civil engineering posts in various government departments. The exam is scheduled to be held on September 20 and the last date for application is September 3.
TSPSC authorities said that further notifications to fill up other technical posts will be issued by the end of this month. Posts in agriculture and excise departments will also be filled.
However, there is still a lot of confusion with regards to Group 1 and Group 2 exams. TSPSC authorities said they are hoping to conduct Group 2 exams by the end of March with the notification expected in October end. Till now, about 400 posts have been cleared for recruitment under Group 2 but the TSPSC is waiting for more vacancies to be listed.
For Group 1, only 53 vacancies have been identified though most of them have legal issues attached. The Kamalanathan Committee is also expected to submit its report in October based on which some more vacancies might be added for recruitment under Group 1. “For Group 1, we got only 53 posts and those too have legal problems,” said TSPSC chairman Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani.
TSPSC is unlikely to take up recruitment under Group 1 in the near future.
TSPSC is also finalising the syllabus for Group 1 and Group 2 exams and will upload the same on its website by the end of this month.
TSPSC authorities also said the biometric system would be followed to prevent impersonation of candidates as had been witnessed in recent exams. Aspirants would have to update their details through the One Time Registration facility and apply online.
TSPSC will also use the online mode of examinations depending on the number of applicants.
