New diary of Rishiteswari found, father for CBI probe
It was discovered at her home in Warangal
GUNTUR: A second diary belonging to B.Arch student M. Rishiteswari, who committed suicide at the Acharya Nagarjuna University in Guntur, was discovered at her home in Warangal. The first diary, which also has Rishiteswari speaking of harassment by her seniors, is with the police.
In the second diary, Rishiteswari narrates her experiences at the hands of her seniors and friends. She wrote that senior student D. Hanisha had forced her to talk to another senior student, Srinivas. Following this, he began messaging her, and telling her that she “looked like a heroine” and attempted to keep chatting, which she disliked. To avoid Srinivas, Rishiteswari said she was giving her phone to her father, Mr M. Muralikrishna.
She said another senior student, Deepa, had helped her avoid Srinivas. She also wrote about befriending Abhishek of Telangana, Udayabhanu, Raju, Aditya and Arun. She wrote about changing Srinivas’ name to ‘brother’ and then to ‘Sri’ in her contact list in her phone. She wrote that she was shocked by the behaviour of Srinivas. She had scolded Srinivas for harassing her.
She was shocked when Aditya and Abhishek, her friends, proposed to her. She was also disturbed by the attention of another senior student, Charan. She tried to talk to Charan to “stop his stupidity.” She wrote: “I don’t know whom I have to share this. I don’t know how he could do this. I hate all men. I hate them all.”
Rishiteswari narrated a freshers party where Srinivas, who was drunk, touched her body offensively and made her feel like killing somebody. “Why each and every man sees the girl. I hate everyone. Why (does) this difference between boy and girl exist? I hate my life and my college. All architects are stupid. Worst life. Am I a doll that these many guys try me (sic),” she wrote.
Following the discovery of the second diary, Mr Muralikrishna, her father demanded a CBI investigation into the incident. He said no action had been taken against Mr G. Babu, the then principal of the university’s College of Architecture and Planning.
