Bengaluru third most dangerous city in India!
BENGALURU: This is one tag the famed IT City could do without. Bengaluru has been ranked the third most violent city in the country with 31,892 criminal cases registered last year. It is next only to Delhi, with 1,39,707 cases, and Mumbai, with 40,361 incidents, according to the data released by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) this year.
The registered cases include murders, kidnappings, sexual harassment, dowry deaths, child rapes, dacoities and cheating. In the number of murders committed, Bengaluru stands second with 241 cases, while the national capital tops the table with 472 cases. Bengaluru is also second in the list of attempt to murder cases with 489 reported incidents, while Delhi is on top with 675 cases. The number of kidnappings at 708 takes Bengaluru to the second spot, while Delhi reported 6,016 such cases.
The social evil of dowry harassment haunts Bengaluru the most, with the city reporting 774 cases, while Jamshedpur, which stands second, recorded 168 such incidents.
