Shraddha Das does a Kangana
She is playing “Revolver Rani” in her upcoming film Guntur Talkies
Actress Shaddha Das is playing “Revolver Rani” in her upcoming film Guntur Talkies directed by Praveen Sattaru. “It’s a bandit queen type of character where I take money forcefully from local people,” says Shraddha who, for the first time, will dub her own voice in Telugu.
“The character I play is from the borders of Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Andhra. So the accent is completely different and director Praveen Sattaru wanted me to dub my own voice,” says the actress.
When asked whether her character resembled Kangana Ranaut’s in Revolver Rani, she says, “Yes, both look the same. There are even some similarities in characters, but the movie is completely different.”
Most of the film was shot in Anantapur and they used real guns with dummy bullets. “The guns were very heavy and when I shot the gun, I would close my eyes… The director didn’t want me to blink my eyes as the character fired guns regularly. At that time it was also very hot in Anantapur,” she says adding that they shot from 7 am to 2 am continuously. “Naresh sir’s house is in Anantapur and he was like a guide for me. He used to tell me about the places near Anantapur,” she says.
Shraddha has recently signed as the lead in the Hindi comedy film Great Grand Masti and she has also completed two shooting schedules. She has been paired opposite Sachin Joshi in another Hindi film.
“The movie will be shot in Bulgaria for almost a month and they have hired Hollywood technicians who worked for the film Resident Evil. They are doing pre-production work and we will start shooting soon,” she says.
