Sandhya Raju set to launch CallHealth in Sept.; eyes urban India
Hyderabad: After months long speculation about Satyam founder Ramalinga Raju’s re-entry into the business arena, heathcare aggregator Call-Health Services, led by his daughter-in-law Sandhya Raju, on Wednesday announced that it is ready to launch its operations next month.
“In the last two decades, we have seen technology change the way we work, communicate, bank, buy, and consume media and entertainment. Technology has revolutionised the core of heathcare industry. However, the delivery of healthcare services has not kept pace with technology. Call-Health is attempting at changing the healthcare landscape by using technology,” said Hari Thalapalli, the newly appointed chief executive officer of CallHealth, on Wednesday.
CallHealth would be led by Mr Hari, who had been the face of Satyam Computers during its crisis, and Mr Sudhakar Nukala, who played a key role in setting up of EMRI-108 services.
Likening the company to a supermarket, Mr Hari said CallHealth would like to be the Amazon of the healthcare industry. “It will offer services ranging from getting appointment of a doctor, consultation of specialists over web conference, getting tests done by paramedics, getting medicine, etc — all at the comfort of home,” he said.
The reports generated will be stored on the cloud and could be accessed by doctors and the user. The company, which already employees 450 backend staff and the same number of field staff, boasts of reaching the patient’s home anywhere in the city in just 20 minutes as they are stationed at 28 strategic locations in the city.
Explaining its business model, Mr Nukala said that people who use our services will not pay anything more than what they pay under traditional model. “We promise huge business and get a small discount. It’s a volume game,” he said.
After its launch in Hyderabad in September, Mr Hari said that the company would like to expand its operations to metros in the first year, and other cities will be considered later.
