Hyderabad: TS power distribution companies are making alternative plans to avoid power outages that may occur due to shortage of supply due to maintenance work on Wednesday and Thursday.
A ‘line clear’ has been put in place by the Power Grid Corporation on the inter-regional 400 kV Ramagundam-Chandrapur circuit on the two days. ‘Line clear’ refers to maintenance work and usually results in shutting down the line if repair work is necessary.
During the line clear period, the Southern Region Load Despatch Centre usually curtails power flow, causing outages.
“Nearly 300 MW of power will be reduced to Telangana Discoms in addition to 600 MW of loss of generation from Simhapuri, VTPS, RTPP and KSK units in AP,” said G. Narsinga Rao, director of HR and grid operations.
