Private colleges hold back degree certificates as both state governments have failed to pay the fees
The parents are worried as their wards need the certificate for admission in PG course
Vijayawada: Students who have completed their degrees and are ready to join PG courses are stuck as the private college managements are reluctant to release the original degree certificates unless the pending fee — supposed to be reimbursed by the state governments — is paid.
The parents are worried as their wards need the certificate for admission in PG course. Their position is all the more precarious as they are not in a position to pay the fees ranging from Rs 35,000 to Rs 70,000 to get the certificates.
A parent, A. Sivarami Reddy, said students of B.Pharmacy were more worried as the admission for PG courses was near. He said the governments should direct the colleges to release the certificates and solve the problem without burdening the students.
K. Adinarayana of Vijayawada said his son completed his BTech from Saint Mary’s College, Batasingaram, but the college management demanded the fee.
