Chandrababu Naidu to ask Narendra Modi for Rs 4,000 crore
The foundation stone for Amaravati will be laid on October 22
Hyderabad: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who wants to complete the construction of office buildings at Amaravati at the earliest, is concentrating on mobilising funds. He will ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whom he is meeting on August 20, to sanction Rs 4,000 crore this year for the purpose.
The foundation stone for Amaravati will be laid on October 22, Vijayadasami. Mr Naidu is of the opinion that if funds are available, construction can start immediately. The Centre had sanctioned Rs 1,500 crore to construct the capital in the previous financial year. Construction is expected to require funds far beyond the Centre’s capabilities, but the finance minister said it has to provide funds as mentioned in the Act.
