Families of Islamic State hostages in Libya to go on fast
Hostages’ wives said that they had got no information about the status of the two professors
Hyderabad: A week after their meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek his help to get the two professors held hostage in Libya released, their families have decided to go on a hunger strike in New Delhi.
The relatives of Prof. Balram Kishan and Prof. Gopikrishna relatives have decided to protest since their meetings with Mr Modi and external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj yielded no result.
The hostages’ wives said that they had got no information about the status of the two professors either from the ministry or the Sirte University in Libya. “Nobody from the external affairs ministry or embassy is responding to our calls,” said Ms Sridevi, wife of Prof. Balram.
