‘Pandavar Ani’ meets veterans of the south
'Pandavar Ani’ met Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on Monday
The tussle between Sarath Kumar, the current President of the South Indian Artistes’ Association (SIAA) commonly known as Nadigar Sangam and actor Vishal regarding the Sangam’s building issue has been ongoing for quite some time now.
With elections for the SIAA around the corner, the team formed by Nasser, Vishal, Karthi, Ponvannan and Karunas has been named ‘Pandavar Ani’. Nasser and Vishal would be competing for president and secretary posts respectively at the forthcoming elections and will be pitted against Sarathkumar and Radha Ravi.
‘Pandavar Ani’ met Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan on Monday and sought their support in the upcoming elections, which are scheduled to take place in Loyola College in the city.
Speaking to DC Vishal said, “We explained to both Rajini sir and Kamal sir about why we wanted to meet them, and what has transpired earlier with respect to the issue. We requested them to come and vote on the Nadigar Sangam Election Day. We also told them why we chose to stand in the elections — because we are looking for a change, and that’s what we intend to do once our team gets elected.”
He adds, “Kamal sir always has the vision of doing something for the theatre artistes. We always look up to his advice. He shared his thoughts about what should be done.” Vishal also revealed that he would be meeting Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, a former member of the film fraternity, and appeal her to vote in the forthcoming SIAA elections.
